Compression does not use one fixed response for every passage.

How it works

Attack and release times vary within defined bounds. The ratio increases progressively with density and level, while release also depends on the remaining gain reduction. Parameters are smoothed to avoid abrupt behavior changes. These mechanisms are integrated into Adaptive Impact.

Use and limits

Results depend on the selected profile, source material, input level and distribution chain. Listen at matched loudness and check output after the codec before keeping a preset.
